The four ways I’m going to share with you are all strategies that I’ve tried with my Facebook ads and I can’t guarantee if their going to work for you but they’ve worked for me and I love sharing my thoughts on how you can create better performing Facebook ads. So here we go!
Create Better Engaging Pictures
Your pictures are such a powerful area of your Facebook ad that you can’t overlook this area. You need to make sure that your Facebook ad picture fits the entire image space (100px by 70px) so you’re maximizing on the entire size of that ad. When you leave extra space on your ad it never looks clean or good when your ad is running with other ads that have a clear cut picture.
Also, you should never just Google a certain topic and grab the first picture that you see. Try and do some research for any images that you’re going to use with your Facebook campaign. I recommend using iStock.com for some of your photos or even Tumblr.com. You’re probably not investing that much time in this area because you feel it’s not important but it place a huge role when wanting a better performing ad.
I know I’ve seen a lot of people using the red boarders for their Facebook images lately. I haven’t personally done this and not recommending it to anyone because you want to make your images stand out. If everyone is doing that right now how do you expect for your image to stand out? Test out different images, boarders, and lens to see what images work best for your campaigns.
Focus on Better Quality Headlines
Don’t just write one headline copy that fits the characters limit and go with that. You should write down between 8 to 10 different headline copies to see which one’s would be the best for that ad. What I recommend you do is write it in the Facebook ad space and then copy and paste it into a document so you already have the exact character limit and then examine them to see which one’s you want to roll out with.
After you run your Facebook ad for a week you can see which headlines are converting the best and then you can make a good decision as to which one you’re going to use. The biggest mistake you can do is to just write one headline and then move on. You always want to test your ads.
Body Content That Matches Headlines
You’re going to want to make sure that your body ad copy for your ad matches your headline. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen ad copy that doesn’t even match the title. You want your ad to flow from headline to body in a sequence. You’re going to want people to basically read your title and understand the body of your ad too. The more you can understand and match these two areas the better your ad would perform.
I would recommend that you write down three to four different ad copies so that you can make a really good match with the headline. With this you’re basically writing one long sentence that flows throughout the entire ad. You don’t want this to be mismatched at all. When you find a set that matches just increase your per day amount.
Narrow You Precise Interests
Who you’re targeting your ads to is very important. You want to make sure that you’re targeting specific people that are interested in your ad. The way you’re going to do this is by directing your ad to specific people using Facebook’s precise interest area. You’re not going to want to use ANY precise interest that has an “#” (hashtag) in front of it because that’s just for people that are “talking” about that specific thing in their status updates.
You want to focus your precise interest on specific people that have “liked” that person or specific topic. So instead of using #Oprah, you would want to use the precise interest of just Oprah. You’re going to cater your ad to people that has shown an interest in Oprah and the things that she offers.
These four methods I’ve used a lot to make sure that my Facebook ads receive some of the best click through rates. With each Facebook ad I have different goals that I’m trying to reach and sometimes these strategies have worked out great and other times they didn’t. The only way that you’re going to find out is by testing them out for your own campaigns.
Facebook ads are probably one of the best paid traffic methods online in my opinion because you can really target a specific group of people for your ads. I know some of you might not want to lose any money with using Facebook ads but I guarantee you that if you just try it once and test it out you’re going to love it.
