Remains of the Day: Two hands and a map

Google’s working on an iOS Maps app that may never see the light of day, Apple may soon let Siri buy your movie tickets, and Steve Jobs gets fully posable. The remainders for Monday, November 5, 2012 are up a creek.
Google sources think maps app might struggle for Apple approval (Guardian)
The Guardian quotes sources at Google who say that they’re “not optimistic” that Apple will approve the company’s Maps application for iOS, which is currently in development. Mountain View has reportedly exhausted all avenues of approach, including an offer to Tim Cook that the company will “be his best friend.”
Apple to bring movie ticket purchasing to Siri with upcoming iOS 6.1 update (9to5Mac)
Siri may soon pick up a new trick or two, if reports about iOS 6.1 are correct. The beta version of the mobile software update includes the ability for users to buy tickets through the virtual assistant. Granted, it comes with Apple’s usual pickiness: Ask for tickets to the latest Michael Bay flick, and Siri will ask if you don’t want to see a nice foreign film instead.
This New Steve Jobs Action Figure Looks Freakishly Realistic (Cult of Mac)
What to get for the Apple fan who has everything? This insanely realistic Steve Jobs figure, which includes incredibly detailed versions of his trademark jeans, sneakers, and, uh, articulated wrists.
